Why have a vow renewal?
There are many great reasons to renew your wedding vows, but mostly the renewal is a way to celebrate the success of your current marriage.
Perhaps you are looking to renew your vows on your 5th, 10th, 25th, or even 50th wedding anniversary. Perhaps you are reaffirming your commitment to each other after a rough or stressful period in your relationship.
How soon to most couples renew?
I've had couples renew their vows as soon as one month after their marriage to 60 years afterward. There is no wrong time to renew.
Who hosts and where can it be held?
Many couples host their own renewals, and some have their children do the honors. One trend we love is the couple's closest friends, perhaps the original maid of honor and best man, choosing to host the event. You can renew your vows in a house of worship, at home, on the beach, in a pretty garden or park, on a mountaintop or on a cruise - basically, anywhere that has sentimental meaning for both of you.
Who Should Be Invited?
You might choose to have an intimate reaffirmation, inviting just close family and friends who've known you through the years. But you can definitely throw a large party for your extended family and a wider circle of friends.
